This is an example of a power module case used in machine tools. The product measures 150 × 60 × 15 mm and is made of copper, brass, PPS resin, and PBT resin. For this power module case, we designed the mold with careful consideration of weld line formation and positioning. Before designing the mold, we conducted mold flow analysis and optimized the molding conditions, gate positions, gate balance, and number of gates. Through these improvements, we successfully designed and manufactured a mold that prevents weld line formation. In addition, we improved production cycle times by keeping the terminals connected during the molding process and separating them afterward.
