This is an example of a product manufactured by insert molding multiple lead terminals. The lead terminals are first produced by metal stamping, with the terminals arranged in a row and connected by joints. Primary insert molding is then performed to hold the lead terminals together with resin. After primary molding, the joints are cut to separate the lead terminals into individual terminals. For this reason, the primary molded component has openings for joint cutting. The primary molded component is then insert-molded together with brass rings in a secondary molding process to complete the final product. Inspection to verify that the joints have been properly cut, as well as dielectric withstand voltage testing, can also be performed.
